Skills test

You’ll do a hands-on test or tech interview so we can see how you work — and you’ll get a feel for the kind of tasks you’d be doing.

Culture fit interview

We’ll talk about values like ambition, humility, and responsibility to see if you vibe with our culture. This one’s with our co-founders or hiring managers.

Reference check

We’ll ask for contact details of your past managers to hear how you worked together — only the people you choose to share with us.

Final decision

  • We usually get back to applicants within 7 business days. If there’s a delay, we’ll let you know.

  • You’ll hear from us within 2–3 business days after each step. If there’s ever a delay, your recruiter will keep you in the loop.

  • Not at all! We have plenty of non-technical positions. What matters most is your skills and experience. Just make sure your resume highlights how you match the job requirements.

  • A little prep goes a long way! Start by reviewing the job description and thinking about how your skills fit the role. Our team might ask behavioral or situational questions, so it’s helpful to have real-life examples ready.

    It’s also a good idea to learn more about Mate — our values, culture, platform, and courses. That way, you’ll feel even more excited about joining us!

  • It depends on the team! Some teams are small and tight-knit (2–3 people), while others are bigger.

    If you're joining a product team, you'll work in a cross-functional setup — think designers, developers, and marketers all collaborating closely. As for working with someone in the same role? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It just depends on the team.

  • Whether you’re joining remotely or in person, you’ll be all set before your first day—equipment, access, and everything else you need.

    Once you're in, you'll have a clear checklist to guide you through your onboarding—not just the first few days.
    And don’t worry, you won’t be figuring things out alone—we’ll be right there to support you.

    A lot of teammates say it’s the first time they’ve felt this guided during onboarding (and we love hearing that!).

    During your trial period, you’ll also have weekly 1:1s with your manager. These are your moments to ask questions, get feedback, and make sure everything’s going smoothly.

  • Ukraine: We offer a hybrid model. We love in-person collaboration because it helps teams perform better and keeps our culture strong. Our Kyiv office is in the city center, fully autonomous (even during blackouts). It has a bomb shelter on-site for extra safety, team lunches to keep you fueled, and it’s pet-friendly!
    Brazil: Our hybrid model here means 1 day in the office, 4 remote.

    Poland: We’re fully remote in Poland, so you can work from wherever feels right for you.
